Divided Focus

Life is short, not long at all

Yet we focus on mere nonentities like being short or tall

We don't seem to care about a crisis in the world

We'd rather focus on the golds and the pearls

Material things have our full attention

But the hunger in Darfur we are reluctant to mention

we need to turn our attention to the issues remaining

because if we put our minds together, the outcome can be truly amazing
