Beyond Tomorrow

I am not  sure why it took me so long To find a place where I belong There was always an open place there for me But I am not sure why I couldn't see I was blinded for reasons that were unknown But the path now is clearly shown I belong with you, and you with me And I am sure that we will be forever happy

I would love to think that I belong long here But it's actions such as this that make thoughts unclear I go through life no knowing exactly where to go Hoping wishing and praying that the path will surely show At times it seems like a door has opened for me But as I try to enter, it closes right before me I sit and think and always wonder why What do I do and who am I I try to find a place, a place where I belong I hope to find this place and my search is no longer prolonged

Accept them for who they are and ask nothing more Keep in mind their feelings and avoid the war A clash of the minds will end on a bad note With you wanting to take back what you wrote Do what you do and let them be Cause I can assure you, in time you both with see

Life is short, not long at all Yet we focus on mere nonentities like being short or tall We don't seem to care about a crisis in the world We'd rather focus on the golds and the pearls Material things have our full attention But the hunger in Darfur we are reluctant to mention we need to turn our attention to the issues remaining because if we put our minds together, the outcome can be truly amazing

I want to learn to love I want to know what you're speaking of Teach me to care And I promise to be there I promise to stand by your side One thing is for sure, we will never divide

The lies you tell are getting old The lies you say you never told I thought you'd be there for me You sure opened my eyes so I can see That it is hard for me to trust anyone but me I no longer need you in my life I no longer want you in my life Bye to our memories Good-bye to everything that you see

Is it possible to find a real friend A friend from the very start to the very end Is it possible to find a friend amoungst the fake You give and give and all they do is take Why in this world is it hard to trust others Lies circulate and rumors spread about one another Choose your friends carefully Pick the ones you see as worthy

If you try to please everyone, you WILL fail There is no possible way for you to prevail Stick to your guns and be you You don't have to be anyone you don't want to

You try to be a friend, you try to be nice You sit there and contemplate "do I really deserve this life" Day in and day out You deal with their laughs and shouts Should you move on to something else Only to be a lonely book on a shelf Is giving up the solution Could there be a real resolution Think about them, think about you And only then will you know what to do...

When you look at someone what do you see The color of their skin or the person they could be Is it possible to not judge someone based on color Can we all live in harmony with one another We are all human all the same With different goals different aims So why judge based on race Why judge in the first place

Someone you thought you were close to Someone you could always open up to Someone you thought would always be there Someone you thought might just care An enemy found, A friend lost At whose expense, Whose cost? Gone forever from your life The unfortunate beginning of a strife Be a friend to someone today And always to be careful of what you say

The most common question when someone dies Is most simply to ask "why?" It's something that no one expects Something that no one rejects No one is prepared for the loss of a friend No one is prepared for that relationship to end They are always remembered forever in our hearts Gone from this earth but we're never truly apart He was a friend to some and a brother to others In time it is pain from which we shall recover Gone from our lives but never from our hearts A young mans legacy from which we will never depart

We go to bed not knowing if we will wake the next morning We go to the funeral crying , weeping, and mourning Does violence know no bounds? Can peace in the hearts of others be found? Is there any love left? A random act of kindness will be your test Go out and help someone for no reason at all Help someone up when you see them fall The pure satisfaction of helping others will be you reward But your ultimate reward will be to be with the Lord

As you stare death in the face you realize What you've done in your life isn't pleasing in your eyes You say you'll change in attempt to better your life Always working hard and doing what's right But have these thoughts ever crossed you mind when death WASNT staring you in the face Change your life now before it's too late...just in case

There are times when we just lie back and look up at the sky Times where we just let life pass us by Moments that were lost and can not be regained Past events in our lives that make us feel ashamed We may try to get those moments back Even try to get our lives on track At times we will succeed in doing this Other times it will seem like an unreachable wish The most we can do is move on Because what's in the future is ahead and what's in the past is gone Only look back to correct our mistakes But only time will tell how long it takes
