Beyond Tomorrow

You must come to understand That when you first begin to stand You are inevitably going to fall The feeling of smacking into a brick wall It was not something planned But remember, you are the command So take control and steer And don't be held by fear

Comply to the rules is what we must do But stop and think about these laws Consider if they adhere to you Or if they're in place to bring to surface your every flaw They say rules are meant to be followed And therefore not broken Set in place to help, or to be engulfed and swallowed Either way the decision of your leaders has been spoken

What does it mean to truly be free It's suspected to be what you really want to be But nothing is promised, no wish nor desire Every dream could burn down like a wild forest fire Because people are cruel and want to see you fail They'll do anything to prevent you to prevail Being free is just a state of mind Unfortunately that is the worst kind

So it's Sunday morning and the preacher is in the pulpit Telling us about Jesus and his miraculous bullshit You're told to believe what is written because the bible is infallible But why am I to believe the words of a man I have not seen nor heard; what makes his lessons so valuable Now before you think that I am just being blasphemous Stop and think before you associate my name with infamous Which person gave the bible so much credibility that it must be true What if i decided to say that Superman is real based on comic book issue number two Sounds crazy but it's true And if they can do it, I can, too.
